About the projects
The work described here was developed with NCBI service users and staff through workshops, research, field trips, tours, talks and exchanges and  in collaboration with the artist-in-residence working with other arts practitioners and institutions.   Through these activities, participants and contributors explored multi-sensory modes of interaction and reflected on the uniqueness of each individual’s physical relationship to shared space in the urban environment.
The artistic outcomes included sound and sculptural works, installations and live events.  They were presented to mixed-ability audiences in mainstream contexts such as an artist-run gallery,  a group art show,  community and fringe festivals.  In exhibiting these interventions to the public, participants have affirmed their role as cultural producers and advocates of a creative, inclusive, participatory society.
Through this online space, we hope  to promote these achievements and inspire a wider audience.
